Among the many definitions of reflection, there is this, “Something that shows the effect, existence, or character of something else.”
This roadside landscape of trees and water, of moss and sky, is a reflection of our interventions in it; of our need for transportation, hydration, building materials, and recreation. What does it show of our individual characters and the character of our community?
As the water reflects the sky, the trees now create their own reflections.
Where are you in this landscape?
Have a seat.
Have a look around.
Have a conversation.
Leave your written reflections in the book beneath your chair.
Reflections is a public art installation on the occasion of Picturing Pelham, October 2017
